TYR Aquatic Resistance Swim Belt
Hello there! Today, I’ll be reviewing the TYR Aquatic Resistance Swim Belt. What the heck is an Aquatic Resistance Swim Belt you ask? Well, let me tell you
An aquatic resistance Swim belt is a device that allows you to great swim workout in the smallest of spaces. It consists of a belt (which you wear), a cord, and an anchor strap.
Basically, you secure the belt to your waist, connect the anchor strap to something stationary near the pool (like a railing), and start swimming. Easy-peasy! Check out the video below of me actually using my own TYR Aquatic Resistance Swim Belt.
Below are what I feel are the good and the bad for this product.
Easy to use – And by easy to use I mean it was really easy to use. You literally just attach the belt around your waist, anchor the other end to something solid like a pool railing, and start swimming. I’m not sure it could be any more simple.
Comfortable – The belt was a big concern for me when I purchased it as I thought it might cut into me as I swam. But it’s nicely padded and doesn’t dig into my stomach or waist at all. I actually don’t even notice I’m wearing it.
The resistance – So the cord isn’t just a rope. Rather, it’s basically a long bungee cord that allows for some give when your swimming. I believe this makes using this product much more comfortable .
Can perform any stroke – Freestyle, breast stroke, back stroke, and even butterfly. You could even get a great workout with a kick-board if you wanted to.
Durability – This thing is made pretty darn well. Honestly, I think the chlorine from the pool is going to eat away at it before anything else on it breaks. But other than washing it off with fresh water after each use, I don’t think there is much more you can really do about that.
Nada – I really can’t think of anything I would change about this product. It’s comfortable, lets you get a great swim workout even with limited space, and it’s easy to use. What else could you ask for? Maybe if there was a way they could make it indestructible so it would last forever…
Overall this is a great product if you want a great swim workout and don’t have regular access to a larger pool or open water and I would highly recommend it to anyone.
