Zyllion Shiatsu Pillow Massager
Today, I’ll be reviewing the Zyllion ZMA-13-BK Shiatsu Pillow Massager. I originally purchased this as a way to treat and prevent tension headaches which I tend to get a couple times per month. However, I’ve also since found that it works great treating hip, butt, and quad tightness after a hard workout. Below are some things I feel are good and bad about this product.
To put it mildly, this thing is amazing. The things I really like about it are:
Its versatility: As I mentioned above, you can use this thing pretty much on any part of your body. From your neck, arms, back, and legs, this thing simply does a great job of getting in and massaging out those “hard to get at” muscles.
Its effectiveness: Using this on my neck and shoulders has gotten rid of probably about 80% of my tension headaches without the use of any aspirin. Additionally, I’ve been able to relieve soreness and knots in my hips and legs simply by using this for just a few minutes per area.
It rotates both ways: This is probably one of my favorite features of this pillow massager. Every minute, the massage nodes reverse directions which allows it to target your muscles in different of ways. I’m constantly amazed about how different the massage feels just from it reversing directions.
It’s portable: I mostly use this at home either on my bed or on the floor but this thing could really be used just about anywhere. It comes with a strap that allows you to strap it to a chair so you can use it while on the computer or while watching TV. It also comes with a car charger so you can use it while sitting in your car.
The optional heat: You have the option to turn the heat on and off on this thing which I believe is great for extending its life. I use the heat when using it on my neck and shoulders but turn it off when using it on my hips and legs. And yes, it does get decently warm.
The automatic shutoff: The Zyllion ZMA-13-BK Shiatsu Pillow Massager turns off automatically after 20 minutes so you don’t have to worry about accidentally leaving it on.
It comes in different colors: You can choose between black, beige, and brown.
The quality and Price: This thing is cheap compared to a lot of other massagers on the market but it’s also seems to be high quality and very strong. I’ve been using it pretty consistently for the last three months straight and it’s still working great. Other reviewers on Amazon have said the same thing.
Despite it’s awesomeness, there a few things I think could be made or done better. For example:
It has to be plugged in: I’m guessing it’s because of how much power this thing puts out, but unfortunately thing needs to be plugged in for it to work. It’s not really a huge deal since I use it entirely at home but it would be nice if I didn’t always have to be near an outlet.
The power cord: Not sure if this is a problem for all of them or just the one I own but the power cord on mine seems to disconnect from the massager very easily. I’ve considered taping it so it won’t come undone but so far it’s just a minor inconvenience.
The strap: The strap that allows you to strap it to a chair is made of elastic, which we all know tends to wear out after repeated use. I haven’t had any problems with mine since I don’t use this feature but it’s just something I thought should be pointed out incase that’s how you plan to use it.
Overall, this a great product to own if you routinely suffer from tension headaches like I do or have some other muscle aches and pains you’d like to try and work out.
